Tie the Yellow Ribbon Round the Old Oak Tree

This is a very old song which is based on a true story. A man was prisoned for three years and before his  release date, he wrote a letter to his wife telling her she doesn't have to wait for him but if she still wants him and is able to forgive him, just tie a yellow ribbon on the old oak tree in the city square. When the bus passed through the oak tree, what he saw was a hundred of yellow ribbons tied round the tree. He must have burst into tears of happiness...

The first time I heard this song was when I watched the Korean movie "Tie a Yellow Ribbon" (1998), the scene was really touching.

The more I grow up the more I realize the importance of forgiveness. When I was young, I used to be a very stubborn girl who never said sorry first, and just ignored everything/everyone that I found they did something wrong to me. I didn't know that sometimes sorry seems to be the hardest word to say.

With a person you love, forgiving is even more difficult as that's the person you love and care about... and still Im learning how to forgive.

As now I know time will never come back. Forgive to let go. No one mean to hurt you - the person he/she loves. Forgive to make everyone happy. And forgive to enjoy life...
